Secretary of State Age: 61 Current job: U.S. Senator, New York Previous posts: Partner, Rose Law Firm, Little Rock, Ark., 1976-92; first lady of the U.S., 1993-2001 After being the first former first lady to serve as a U.S. Senator, Clinton is poised to become the first to serve in a Presidential Cabinet. Clinton was elected as a Senator of New York in 2000 after moving to the state the year before. In the Senate, she served on the Armed Services Committee and made a point of building cross-party coalitions on some issues. Although she and Obama questioned each other's abilities during a hard-fought Presidential primary, they have taken pains more recently to express confidence in one another. Taking a high-profile foreign-policy position means she's unlikely to have a hand in any health-care policies under Obama, perhaps exorcising the specter of her failure to reform health care early in her husband's Presidency. Before Clinton's nomination was announced, former President Bill Clinton agreed to disclose donors to his foundation and accepted limits on fundraising that could pose conflicts.
